The OpenEco journal invites qualified individuals to join its Editorial Board by completing and submitting a membership application form. This process enables candidates to present their expertise, experience, and motivation to contribute to the journal’s development and the advancement of research within their field.

Editors

The composition and size of the Editorial Board may vary from year to year, depending on the journal’s evolving needs. Editorial appointments are made based on several criteria, including subject-matter expertise, relevance to the journal’s scope, strong research performance indicators, international representation, and recognition within reputable academic or professional institutions.

The Editorial Board encompasses a range of key roles (such as Associate Editor, General Editor, and Editor-in-Chief) each responsible for upholding the journal’s academic standards, peer review integrity, and overall publication quality.

Reviewers

The journal maintains a diverse pool of reviewers, which may include experienced peer reviewers, guest editors, previous authors, and individuals nominated by current Board members.

General Policy and Submission Conditions

OpenEco is an open-access journal that accepts manuscript submissions on a rolling basis. Authors should prepare manuscripts either in a single-column format or using the official journal template and submit them via the official editorial email address (openecojournal@gmail.com). Submitted works must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. Short communications or brief notes are not considered for publication.

The editorial team reserves the right to desk-reject manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s quality or originality standards without external review. All submissions must align with the journal’s aims and scope and are subject to a double-anonymized peer-review process. Authors are responsible for ensuring linguistic accuracy and clarity of English prior to submission; the use of professional proofreading tools or services is encouraged.

As an open-access publication, OpenEco applies an Article Processing Charge (APC), while authors retain copyright of their work.

Article Types

• Original Research Articles – presenting novel findings with sufficient methodological detail for reproducibility.
• Review Articles – synthesizing and critically evaluating recent developments in a field.
• Case Studies – in-depth analyses of specific problems using empirical or experimental approaches.

Submission Requirements and Checklist

Before submission, authors must ensure compliance with the journal’s technical and ethical standards, including:

• Accurate authorship attribution and disclosure of contributions.
• Inclusion of full author contact details and ORCID identifiers.
• Designation of up to two corresponding authors responsible for communication and data transparency.
• Compliance with formatting and length requirements (e.g., word count, figures, tables, references).
• Inclusion of a declaration statement outlining contributions, funding, and conflicts of interest.

Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be organized according to standard academic conventions:

• Abstract – concise summary of objectives, methods, key findings, and conclusions.

• Materials and Methods – detailed and reproducible methodology.

Ethics and Data Availability

Authors must adhere to internationally accepted ethical standards. This includes:

• Disclosure of conflicts of interest.
• Provision of ethical approval statements where applicable.
• Ensuring data accessibility, preferably via recognized public repositories.
• Clear attribution of author contributions.

Research involving human or animal subjects must comply with relevant ethical and legal requirements.

Peer Review and Editorial Process

All manuscripts undergo initial editorial screening followed by a double-blind peer-review process. Manuscripts deemed unsuitable may be rejected at an early stage. Authors may be requested to revise their submissions in accordance with reviewer feedback.

Formatting and Technical Standards

• Structured references with numerical citation style.
• Editable tables and equations (must not be submitted as images).
• High-resolution figures (minimum 300 dpi).
• Consistent use of abbreviations and terminology throughout the text.

Supplementary materials may be submitted where necessary to support the validity of the research.
